A firm mattress provides the necessary support for your baby’s growing body, while reducing the risk of suffocation. Look for a mattress that meets the safety standards set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
    2. Breathable crib mattress: A breathable crib mattress is designed to allow air to flow freely, reducing the risk of suffocation and overheating. These mattresses are typically made of materials like organic cotton, wool, or coconut coir, which are also hypoallergenic and eco-friendly.
    3. Fitted crib sheet: Regardless of the mattress type you choose, always use a fitted crib sheet that is snug and secure. Loose bedding or soft surfaces can increase the risk of SIDS. Remember to avoid using blankets, pillows, or stuffed animals in the crib.
    4. Sleep positioners: Although not a direct replacement for memory foam, sleep positioners can help ensure your baby maintains a safe sleep position.
